Prepare Joomla Content
Creating content for AP portfolio is an easy as creating articles in Joomla.
- Create a parent category in Joomla.
- Create children categories.
- Create regular articles in your children categories.
- Choose parent category from AP Portfolio admin“Source” tab.
- Choose layout in AP Portfolio admin“Layout” tab.
- Publish module.
- You're ready to go!

- Portfolio (parent category)
- Design (child category)
- Apps (child category)
- Devices (child category)
So, example looks like this in filter (tabbed navigation):

- Select "Source" tab in AP Portfolio admin menu.
- Select - "Category"
- Select - Parent category where you already prepred content. In this example it is "Portfolio", as a parent category for "Design", "Apps" and "Devices" children categories. Remember, all the content (images and description) that will be shown is in Children categories. In this way hierarchy is needed for "filter" (tabbed navigation):

- Count Items
- Columns Number of columns per row. You can create from 1 to 10 columns in one row. It is responsive, which means it will adapt to any screen size.
- Ajax Request
- Way to Load Main Scripts (isotope and lightboxes)
Number of items (articles) to show on load. Based on how much items will be triggered with ajax request, you can calculate how much to show on the first load. Ajax gives you possibility to load a lot of items without reloading whole page.
Example 1: If you have 12 items in children categories, you can show 8 on first load and 4 with ajax request.
Example 2: If you have a lot of items, let's say 32 or 48 items (articles) all together, you can show 8 on first load and 8 more with each ajax request.
There are almost unlimited possibilities and combinations, where you can include your imagination and combine number of items with columns and ajax request.
Here you can choose number of items to call with ajax request:
This is an option to avoid possible conflict with other Javascripts. There are two ways to load scripts (isotope and lightboxes in this case) for this module: using “Custom tag” or “To Head”. Because the script is jQuery dependent, and it needs to be loaded after jQuery, “Custom tag” option will ensure that it comes after jQuery. “To Head” option is Joomla standard, but if you load module inside article using “Load Modules” Joomla plugin, then in some templates, “To Head” would load main script before jQuery and cause conflict. In that case, choose “Custom tag”.
Default value: “Add Custom Tag”.
“Mootools Fix”
This is an option to avoid possible conflict with Mootools-more and Bootstrap library. Some templates are still loading Mootools library, including Mootools-more.js, which is in many cases causing conflict with Bootstrap library and jQuery. This is a handy fix to avoid conflict if you need.
Default value: “Yes”.
